Reillys was proud to partner with Buildcorp on the prestigious $70 million refurbishment of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, a landmark hotel in the heart of the CBD. The project encompassed a large-scale transformation of both the hotel’s grand public spaces and its luxurious guest rooms, with a focus on timeless elegance and refined functionality.

From guestrooms to hallways and event spaces, every detail was carefully considered to reflect Sofitel’s global reputation for excellence. Our scope included full window furnishing supply and installation, working closely with the design team and Sofitel the client, to deliver premium outcomes that aligned with the hotel’s elevated brand and guest experience.

Custom Solutions for an Iconic Space

A defining feature of this project was our collaboration with the design team to develop a bespoke rod system, engineered specifically to enhance the architectural character of the interiors. This fully custom solution elevated the window furnishings beyond standard fit-out, merging form and function with the luxurious tone of the overall design.

The rods were not only architecturally aligned but crafted for longevity and smooth functionality in a high-traffic hotel environment. The result is a detail that blends effortlessly into the space while reinforcing the premium feel of each room.

Premium Fabric Selections

To balance luxury, durability, and practicality, we worked with industry-leading fabric houses to specify high-performance textiles suitable for both aesthetic impact and operational demands:

• Odin & Weylands by Basford Brands – Used throughout guest rooms, these textured fabrics delivered a refined, tailored appearance with the strength to withstand daily use in a hospitality setting.
• Vela by James Dunlop – A rich, green velvet selected for the hallways and shared spaces, adding a layer of warmth, depth, and grandeur to the hotel’s transitional zones.

Each selection was made in close consultation with the design team to maintain consistency with the Sofitel brand while elevating the sensory experience of guests.

With hundreds of rooms and multiple zones under construction simultaneously, the Reillys team executed at scale without sacrificing attention to detail. From managing tight delivery timelines to overseeing on-site coordination with multiple trades, our team ensured seamless installation and consistent quality across every space.
