Fabric Donation to NSW Schools

How Leftover Fabric is Inspiring the Next Generation

100% of our leftover fabric is now diverted

from landfill through this program

Supporting 10+ NSW schools

annually with free textiles for student creativity

At Reillys, sustainability means thinking beyond the finished product. It’s about how we source, manufacture, and manage every stage of our process and finding ways to make a positive impact along the way.

One of the most tangible examples of this commitment is our Fabric Donation Program, a simple yet meaningful initiative that gives new life to the materials that once might have gone to waste.

The Initiative

Our projects require a wide variety of premium fabrics for window and soft furnishings and inevitably, we can generate leftover rolls and offcuts that are no longer usable for projects. Rather than sending these materials to landfill, our team sorts, stores and donates them to local NSW schools, where they are repurposed for student textile programs. This initiative keeps valuable materials in use while giving young students the opportunity to experiment, create and develop their skills.

Recent Deliveries

In one of our recent donation days, the Reillys team delivered rolls of premium fabric to OLMC in Caringbah South and Bethany Ladies College in Hurstville.

For these schools, the donations become an invaluable resource, providing access to quality materials that students may not otherwise have the opportunity to work with. For us, it’s an opportunity to reduce waste, give back to the community, and help nurture the next generation of designers and makers.

Community Impact

  • Diverting fabric from landfill
  • Supporting education and creativity in local communities
  • Promoting responsible use of materials across our industry

This program reflects our belief that even small actions can have a big impact when done consistently.

Looking Ahead

The Fabric Donation Program is just one part of our broader Sustainability Framework, which also includes solar-powered facilities, a Defect Recycling Program, bulk purchasing to reduce packaging waste, and a focus on circular practices. We’re proud of what this initiative has achieved so far and look forward to expanding it to reach more schools and community groups across NSW.
