At Cronulla’s beachfront, the Solstice Apartments stand as a showcase of high-end residential design, and for Reillys, they also mark the continuation of a valued partnership with GNK Developments. Following the success of the Marlo Road project back in 2019, Solstice became our second large-scale collaboration with GNK, reinforcing the importance of early engagement and strong working relationships in delivering premium results.
From the outset, GNK involved us at the early design stage, nearly two years before our installation would take place. That early collaboration made all the difference and GNK had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve from the start. They knew motorisation was a must for their clientele and they wanted recessed tracks to sit flush with the ceiling for a seamless finish, and by defining that upfront we could develop a detailed specification, advise on fixings and wiring, and map the installation milestones well in advance, which meant no additional costs were incurred later when build constraints were discovered.
“When a client comes to us with a strong design direction, it makes everything flow,” explains Callum Reilly, Owner of Reillys. “We were able to line up all the key steps with the build, coordinating with electricians for wiring, ensuring blocking and fixings were in before ceilings were sheeted, and cutting out tracks before flooring and finishes went in. That kind of sequencing is what allowed our products to be integrated seamlessly without additional headaches and costs later down the track. GNK understood the importance of that timing and our product having worked together before, which gave us the opportunity to deliver the best outcome for them, and in turn, the purchasers.”
That alignment continued through the specification process. Cassie Reilly, CEO of Reillys, worked closely with Kelly from GNK to make sure the window furnishings tied into the broader vision for Solstice.
“Kelly had such a strong sense of how they wanted these apartments to feel,” Cassie says. “Our job was to bring cohesion, making sure fabrics complemented carpets, paintwork, and kitchen finishes so the interiors felt complete. When the design and the construction timelines are both clear from the start, it gives us the ability to execute consistently and at scale.”
The outcome speaks for itself: stunning sheer and blockouts curtains installed in every room using luxe fabrics, both hand-drawn and motorised, across five levels of apartments. They are truly one of the features from the external view and of course internally, and all delivered to the same high standard, with a finish that elevates every space.
As Geoff Mailey, Director of GNK Developments, summed up:
“Once again the Reilly’s team have delivered, as promised, a beautiful quality product. Every sheer curtain and blockout, whether hand drawn or motorised, looks and works fabulously. The quality of the products, attention to detail, and very personal approach to the process made for a brilliant experience. Thank you to all at Reilly’s.”
