When it comes to interior design, the finest projects are those where every detail is considered. Our recent collaboration with Emily Webster, Principal Designer and Owner of The Style Workshop, on a breathtaking Mosman residence is a perfect example.
From the outset, Emily’s vision for this home was clear: create a space that is elegant, timeless, and practical in equal measure. The result is a residence where every window treatment plays a role in shaping how the rooms feel and function.
Design Intent: A True Testament to Thoughtfulness
This home reflects a designer who knows her craft. Emily approached each room with care, taking into account the natural light, architecture, and lifestyle of the homeowners. The result is a carefully curated mix of materials and styles, layered yet cohesive.
“Working with Emily on this project was a privilege. Her level of attention to detail and understanding of how window furnishings influence a space is second to none. Every choice was intentional, and the end result speaks volumes.”
– Cal Reilly, Head of Residential Projects, Reillys
The Window Furnishing Story
Every space in the home was considered with a balance of practicality and aesthetics in mind. At the front of the home, plantation shutters were chosen for the bay window an enduring style that elevates the room’s classic features and complements the home’s façade. In the adjoining office, Emily layered a linen roman blind with soft sheer curtains on a textured iron rod, bringing a relaxed but refined softness to a hardworking space. The bathrooms also feature shutters for their durability in wet areas, while the upstairs bedrooms, with their deep reveals, were perfectly suited to the same timeless shutter treatment.
In the main living area, a recessed bent track with textured sheers creates a seamless flow, offering both light control and a luxurious finish without compromising the architecture. Finally, the outdoor entertaining area is completed with a beige motorised external blind, adding privacy and protection from the elements while maintaining the open feel of the alfresco space.
Reillys’ Role
The Reillys team worked closely with Emily to bring her vision to life, providing expert advice, supply, and installation across the entire scope of window furnishings. From the precision fit of the plantation shutters to the craftsmanship of the roman blinds, bent tracks, sheers, and motorised external shading, every detail was executed with care to ensure the design intent was delivered exactly as imagined.
The Finished Home
The Mosman residence is a true testament to interior knowledge and skill. It is a layered, highly considered home that balances style with functionality. Every decision made by Emily Webster contributes to a cohesive, timeless look that the homeowners will enjoy for years to come.
